Pashiz (Bronze, 17 mm, 0.24 g, 6 h), Arab-Sasanian type, citing governor al-Hajjaj ibn Yusuf (694-713), without mint, AH 74-94 = AD 694-713. Crowned and draped Sasanian-style bust facing; to left, AFZUT GDH ('may his kingship increase' in Pahlawi); to right, HC'CYWSP ('al-Hajjaj ibn Yusuf ' in Pahlawi). Rev. Al-Hajjaj ibn Yusuf (661-714) was perhaps the most able and loyal general of the Umayyad caliphate. He served under the caliph, Abd al-Malik ibn Marwan, and his eldest son, al-Walid.
